Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS.
- Oversee the month-, quarter-, and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Manage cash flow forecasting and budgeting processes.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure tax compliance and preparation of VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns.
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement and maintain effective financial controls.
- Support external audit processes and liaise with auditors as required.
- Monitor and report on cost performance, budgeting, and profitability within the mining operations.
- Assist in preparing management accounts and delivering financial insights to senior management.
- BCom Honours Degree in Accounting or related field.
- Completion of SAICA/SAIPA articles.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Financial Accountant, ideally within the mining or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
- Proven experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Pastel, SAP, or similar ERP systems).
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
