Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our fast-growing retail or e-commerce business. If you have a background in CIMA or completed articles (SAICA/SAIPA), this is an exciting opportunity to take a leadership role in managing and driving the financial health of our company.Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards (IFRS/GAAP).
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability, identifying key trends and variances.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insight to support business decisions and growth strategies.
• Manage the cash flow of the business, ensuring adequate funding for operations while optimizing working capital.
• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and other legal requirements, liaising with external auditors and tax authorities as needed.
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Provide leadership to the finance team, mentoring and guiding junior staff.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment between financial goals and business strategies.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Professional qualification in CIMA, SAICA or SAIPA articles.
• Proven experience in financial management, preferably within the retail or e-commerce industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence decision-making at all levels.
• Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
