Job Description


Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Com (Accounting) or National Diploma in Financial Accounting.
  • CA (SA) / CIMA an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role essential.
  • Manufacturing experience is key!
The Job:
Report to the Financial Manager:Financial Strategy:
  • Provide support on the financial strategic plan.
General Financial Management, Reporting & Systems:
  • Provide financial analysis and support to management and all operational areas.
  • Review and action financial variances (budget/forecast).
  • Review and action balance sheet account variances.
  • Prepare financial reports and returns.
  • Generate information and reports for internal and external use.
  • Manage and maintain the accounting and business intelligence systems.
  • Implement, rollout and administer the Management Information System.
  • Prepare and circulate the monthly financial pack.
  • Prepare financial reports and returns.
Internal Control:
  • Design, document and implement internal controls.
  • Maintain and review the risk register.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and make recommendations for improvements.
Budgets and Forecasts:
  • Prepare the consolidated budget and forecast process and timing plan.
  • Review operational budgets and forecasts.
  • Co-ordinate and consolidate all budgets and review all forecasts.
Capex and Fixed Assets:
  • Consolidate and maintain the business unit Capex reports.
  • Review Capex spend.
Audits and Year-End Processes:
  • Prepare the consolidated audit plan.
  • Prepare and plan year-end statutory audit (external and internal) in line with the consolidated audit plan.
  • Prepare reporting accounting, audit and tax packs.
  • Facilitate completion of financial statements for legal entities.
Debtors and Cash Management:
  • Oversee the debtors function of the business unit.
  • Facilitate and input into the management process.
  • Review debtors age analysis, providing an analysis and action plans for debt collections.
  • Oversee cash management function of the business unit.
  • Monitor daily cash positions and cash flows to ensure settlement and maximise performance.
  • Manage cash flow and working capital.
  • Calculate BU working capital for month end closing and analysis variances to actual performance.
Forex:
  • Manage Forex risk.
  • Review Forex forecasts.
Statutory Returns:
  • Ensure compliance with the general tax provisions.
  • Review Statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, SDL, UIF, WCA) and ensure they submitted on time.
  • Support process of Provisional/Income Tax returns.
  • Prepare and submit Government Incentive Applications.
  • Insurance - review and submit Insurance declarations.
