Financial Manager (8 month FTC)2024-09-05 - 2024-10-31ContractorCPT001657FinancialWestern Cape, Northern SuburbsOur client is seeking a Financial Manager who can oversee the financial functions for the Western Cape Region.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures. Oversee the day-to-day work of the financial department and is responsible for the effective application of financial resources.
Please note that this is a fixed term maternity cover contract for 8 months (October 2024 - April 2025).Responsibilities:

  • Monitor daily financial functions (Debtors, creditors, cash and bank).
  • Month end processing and steering the department in a direction to meet month end deadlines.
  • Intercompany processing.
  • Loans and intercompany reconciliation.
  • To ensure accurate and complete month end financial figures are produced.
  • Produce and distribute monthly management reports to agreed time scales.
  • Trend analysis (Cost, sales, debtors).
  • Review financial data and prepare periodic reports.
  • Preparation of regulatory returns to SARS.
  • VAT reconciliations.
  • Manage and account for income and expense accruals.
  • Updating of asset and lease registers.
  • Cash flow management.
  • Compiling annual budgets.
  • Budget tracking and reforecasting.
  • Oversee finance department employees.
  • Manage timeous payments of creditors.
  • Implement, maintain and improve financial controls, policies and procedures and systems across all teams.
  • Reports to the National Financial Manager, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
  • Liaise with external parties such as bankers, auditors, lawyers and SARS.
  • Ensure that all balance sheet reconciliations are produced on an accurate and timely basis.
  • To ensure accurate and complete financial year figures are produced.

  • Experience in budget preparation and reporting
  • Knowledge of current practice of internal auditing
Requirements:
  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant financial experience
  • Experience using financial software
  • Advanced accounting degree
  • SAICA/SAIPA articles will be considered a plus
  • Professional Qualification would be advantageous
