Job Purpose:The Financial Manager is responsible to ensure compliance of all statutory and legal requirements are in place for each company under financial administration. The Financial Manager is also responsible in meeting monthly reporting deadlines, review of month end reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy of reporting of financial performance of the company. It is imperative that the Financial Manager leads by example and always act with honesty and integrity. Additionally, the Financial Manager is responsible to ensure all standard operating processes and accounting policies are implemented and controlled to mitigate any financial and operational risks for the company.xc3x82
Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and manage the finance department, establishing an environment for growth and personal development.
  • Design and implement sound financial controls to mitigate risks which may compromise integrity and accuracy of financial information.
  • Review the monthly management accounts (which include sound financial controls to ensure the completeness and accuracy of both balance sheet and income statement)
  • Ensure that monthly deadlines are met for reporting management accounts to key stakeholders, including analytical comments to provide insight on significant movements or trends.
  • Completion of annual budgeting for the company and continuous monitoring of actual vs budgeted financial performance, inclusive of comments on variances.
  • Review of month end balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
  • Perform monthly VAT reconciliations and ensure that VAT201 submissions are submitted on within prescribed deadlines.
  • Review of monthly EMP201 submission and ensure submission and payments are completed within prescribed deadlines.
  • Perform of annual and provisional income tax calculations and ensure submission within prescribed deadlines.
  • Completion of treasury functions to optimize surplus cash flow held within the company.
  • Review and approve payments requisitions prepared by the Creditors Clerk.
  • Process of non- standard journals and file journals accordingly with audit supporting documentation.
  • Prepare annual statutory audit files for each business.
  • Managing and addressing any audit-related queries raised to help finalize annual statutory audits.
  • Ensure that all statutory and compliance documents are filed and kept up to date for each business.
  • Lead and oversee finance team and provide regular and constructive feedback to key stakeholders.

  • Deadline-driven to ensure that all monthly deadlines are met.

Experience:

  • SAICA/ (CA)SA qualified completed 2+ year post articles
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (excel, word, outlook)
  • SAGE Evolution Experience not essential but would be beneficial
