Job Description

:
Lead the finance department by providing strategic direction and ensuring financial alignment with company goals
Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting; analyse trends and recommend improvements
Manage cash flow and working capital to maintain financial health; ensure compliance with regulations and conduct necessary audits
Supervise a team of 7 accountants and ensure accurate statutory submissions (IRP5, COID, STATS SA, UIF, Medical Aid, Provident Fund)
Prepare monthly management accounts for 5 companies, annual financial statements, and facilitate audits
Assist with BBEE audits, SARS documentation, and ensure up-to-date liquor licenses
Oversee the monthly creditors reconciliation process and ensure correct invoicing, VAT compliance, and payment allocation
Review and sign-off on daily payments and resolve bank account reconciliation queries
Ensure that the Accounts Payable control account matches the general ledger monthly and oversee credit applications and onboarding documentation
Supervise the monthly billing process, conduct variance analysis, and resolve discrepancies with warehouse and transport teams
Ensure timely tenant billing, recovery processing, and review revenue accounts and accruals
Oversee the insurance claims process and ensure all claims are properly followed upSkills & Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role or a similar senior position within the logistics, FMCG, property management, or hospitality industry
Proficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with accounting systems such as Sage, Xero, or Pastel is essential
In-depth knowledge of Company Income Tax, Provisional Tax, and VAT calculations (non-negotiable)
Experience with PAYE, EMP201, and EMP501 submissions is advantageous
Solid understanding of UIF, COIDA, and SDL regulations
Experience with STATS SA, DOL, and SARS submissionsQualification:
Completed Bachelors degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field
