We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Manager/Accountant to oversee the financial operations of our car rental company. The successful candidate will manage payroll, ensure compliance with fiduciary duties, liaise with regulatory bodies, and provide strategic financial insights to support business growth. This role demands a high level of accuracy, integrity, and an understanding of the automotive rental industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management and Reporting:
Prepare, analyse, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasts to ensure the company's financial health.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions.
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization.
2. Payroll Administration:
Manage and process payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with labour laws and tax regulations.
Calculate and reconcile employee benefits, bonuses, and deductions accurately.
Maintain payroll records and ensure timely submission of tax filings.
3. Compliance and Regulatory Liaison:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulations, including tax filings, VAT submissions, and fiduciary reporting.
Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies as required.
Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and advise management on implications.
4. Fiduciary Duties:
Safeguard the company's assets through robust internal controls and risk management practices.
Oversee the preparation and submission of fiduciary reports to relevant compliance bodies.
Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation of all financial transactions.
5. Strategic Planning and Decision Support:
Provide financial insights and advice to support strategic business decisions.
Collaborate with department heads to create budgets and allocate resources effectively.
Conduct feasibility studies and financial modeling for new business opportunities.
6. Team Leadership and Development:
Supervise and mentor junior finance staff, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the finance team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA/CA preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or accounting, preferably in the automotive or rental industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or SAP) and high proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Familiarity with payroll systems and tax regulations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
High level of integrity and attention to detail.
