Job Description


Duties:

  • Responsible for the management of the Finance team
  • Preparation of Company Annual Financial Statements
  • Responsible for annual company budgeting within required timelines, the forecasting and analysis of variance to such budget
  • Long term forecast/medium term/short term cash flow forecasts
  • Producing monthly management accounts for company within a set time parameter following month end
  • Perform financial analysis on management accounts as required by the
  • Company Shareholders and financiers to the Company in terms of loan funding agreements
  • Responsible for the design, review and implementation of financial controls and processes for the business
  • Managing and participating in the external audit process
  • Review of accounting journals before they are posted by accounting team
  • Responsible for the reconciliation and administration of the long-term borrowings
  • Responsible for the performance reporting of properties in the portfolio
  • Responsible for company tax affairs (income tax, provisional tax, VTA, PAYE, tax queries etc.)
  • Monitoring of certain expense and cost accounts against budget and reporting thereon monthly
  • Responsible for overseeing the property portfolio valuation process for each financial year end
  • Preparing data for annual portfolio valuation and review accuracy thereof
  • Assist with various aspects relating to the transfer of properties required by the Company
  • Checking that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements, i.e. (Good Governance, IFRS).
  • Yearly financial audits and tax and deferred tax calculations
  • Driving and managing the preparation of the budgets, forecasts including timely submission to group
  • Continuous engagement with finance staff, training, identification of areas of improvement and management of the finance team, to ensure optimal performance are maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, legislation, regulations and good governance.
  • Ensure changes in financial regulations and legislation are implemented.
  • Preparation of VAT returns.
  • Ensuring compliance with VAT legislation.
  • Rebilling of costs across legal entities.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
  • CA(SA) qualification
  • 36 years post-articles experience
  • 5 years experience in Financial Accounting
  • 3 years experience in People Management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
