Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in the Finance department. We are looking for a talented individual with relevant skills and experience for a Financial Planner: Statutory & Group Report role, which is based in Midrand. The successful candidate will report directly to the Financial Controller: Statutory & Group.Key PurposeTo support the implementation of statutory reporting processes by providing analytical and reporting deliverables to ensure control and compliance alignment across the South African statutory group structure as well as drive CCBSAs financial objectives.
Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesKey Outputs and AccountabilitiesStatutory Reporting

  • Create journals in the ERP system to record the income tax provision in the General Ledger (GL), as part of the GL close process, for the South African statutory group structure.
  • Create monthly and quarterly statutory journals in the ERP system to be submitted for approval.
  • Categorise transactions for smaller entities, analyse identified GL accounts and input the transactional analyses onto the statutory reporting platform for review and sign off, as part of the monthly submission of financial statements to Group Office.
  • Identify, investigate and resolve inter-company transaction mismatches for smaller entities on the statutory reporting platform.
  • Input data, analyse movements and complete validations on the statutory reporting platform for smaller entities in the South African statutory group structure.
  • Draft, review and provide input into notes for the annual financial statements to provide context and completeness to the financial statements notes.
  • Complete lease questionnaires for Local Distribution Partners (LDPs) to assess if a contract contains a lease.
  • Complete the lease classification questionnaire to calculate the lease payments, financial liability and the value of the right of use assets.
  • Create quarterly lease journals and complete lease submission documents, and submit for approval.
  • Analyse and review lease GL accounts and correct misallocations to ensure leases are correctly accounted for.
  • Prepare journals to correct misallocations.
  • Compile monthly and quarterly reports and submit for approval, in preparation for the submission to Statistics South Africa.
  • Coach and provide guidance to business stakeholders to build awareness of statutory compliance and reporting.
  • Conduct analyses for adhoc investigations and reporting purposes to identify cost saving opportunities and to derive analytical insights.
  • Download monthly reports from the statutory reporting platform and distribute to business stakeholders as input into other monthly reports.
Governance
  • Implement identified RACM controls to comply with the RACM framework requirements and mitigate financial risk to the business.
  • Attend quarterly stock count within region, as a management control requirement, to ensure accurate stock reporting.
  • Source and provide information required for the statutory audit process for identified entities in the South African Statutory group structure to ensure compliance to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and audit controls.
  • Implement action plans to ensure closure of audit findings and mitigation of further risk to the business.
  • Prepare monthly GL reconciliations for identified accounts, as per RACM requirements.
Budgeting
  • Input budget data, analyse movements and complete validations on the statutory reporting platform for smaller entities in the South African statutory group structure.
Skills, Experience & EducationQualifications and Experience
  • BCom degree in Accounting or Financial Management.
  • Chartered Accountant of South Africa (CA(SA)) would be advantageous.
  • 2-3 years of post-qualification experience in financial management.
  • Experience in statutory reporting and financial statement preparation would be advantageous.
