Job Summary Candidate Requirements:

  • Grade 12 and a tertiary qualification in Hospitality/Tourism or a related field (essential)
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of Executive Chef experience working in luxury hotels/lodges/fine dining restaurants (essential)
  • Must have sound knowledge of fine-dining cuisine (preferred)
  • Must be able to work weekends/evenings as well as public holidays (Hospitality hours)
  • Be able to manage the standards, service, quality and efficiency of the Kitchen and coordinate with Restaurant Manager
  • Must have knowledge of equipment maintenance, stock control and inventory control
  • Must have sound staff management abilities and be able to motivate and mentor diverse teams
  • Must be guest-centric and will do anything to go above and beyond to exceed guest's expectations
  • Must be able to perform well under pressure
  • Must be fully computer literate
  • Be proactive, problem-solving, and quick at making sound decisions
  • Positive attitude, Self-motivated, Confident, Hands-on, proactive approach, Team player
  • Must be able to generate growth and restaurant sales through marketing initiatives
  • Must be able to regularly conduct P&L reviews to analyse financial metrics etc
  • 2-year contract (before leave is granted)
