Job Description
Responsible for inspecting low-risk/single-use buildings, facilities and other structures to ensure compliance with the fire safety related standards and Municipal Fire Safety
Bylaws to preserve life, protect property, and the environment from fire and other dangerous conditions.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Monitoring compliance with relevant fire safety codes, standards, and Municipal fire safety bylaws through conducting routine fire safety inspections of buildings and facilities.
- Perform administrative duties through organizing and maintaining records of inspection findings, and documentation.
- Providing support to relevant Municipal departments.
- Enforcing compliance with the fire safety By-law and relevant National Standards/Regulations relating to fire safety.
- Undertake Governances and Risk Management.
Essential Requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
- Fire Fighter 1 & 2,
- HAZMAT Awareness & Operations.
- Valid motor vehicle driving license.
- 1 Year relevant experience.
1.Agility in moving over uneven grades
2. Must satisfy medical standard for appointment
3. Must be physically capable of performing the functions of the post.
Preferred Requirements
- Higher Certificate in Fire Technology (NQF Level 5).
- 2 Years relevant experience.
