Job Description
Job Summary
- Operate a range of equipment including welding equipment, lathes, milling machinery, grinding machinery, hydraulic presses and thread cutting machinery
- Operate CNC & NC lathes or machining equipment
- Use specialist measuring equipment
- Work from detailed drawings
- Fault diagnostics
- Setting up of machinery to enable the manufacture of engineering products, repair or replacement of components, installation and maintenance of plant and machinery, and construction and commissioning work.
- Using and maintaining specialised machines and tools
- Assembling components so they are ready for installation
- Reading and interpreting project plans
- Coordinating with the labour crew for efficient installations
- Performing MIG, TIG and other types of welding methods depending on the project
- Finding and fixing faults in pipework
- Carrying out planned maintenance checks
- Responding to emergency calls
- Conserving resources wherever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction
- Industry safety certification
- Trade Test
- 2 years relevant experience
- General knowledge of construction site standards and safety procedures
- Thorough attention to detail
- The ability to use their initiative
- Knowledge of engineering science and technology
- The ability to work well with others
- Design skills and knowledge
- Physically Fit
