Job Objectives Follow specific work instructions and best practices to safely and accurately complete daily work assignments Serve as the key communication channel for all the operational activities and ensure that all relevant departments are updated with regards to important operational data Consistently follow up on project progress as well as vehicle status and tracking to ensure adherence to commitments for ETA for loading and offloading. Provide regular reports to senior management and adhere to the daily reporting schedule regarding the latest performance figures, and other critical ops information Oversee the preparation and enforcement of accurate shift rosters for employees to adhere to operational requirements Provide regular reports to senior management and adhere to the daily reporting schedule regarding the latest performance figures, ongoing projects, and other critical ops information. Manage the vehicle flow processes at the branch to ensure effective productivity in accordance with procedures Monitor fleet and drivers to ensure a reliable fleet in terms of mechanical and visual standards Maintenance due reports to be monitored and vehicles serviced within parameters Ensure administration duties such as but not limited to traffic fines are up to date, investigations related to accidents are captured and cases are made at SAPS Conduct disciplinary discussions when necessary and appropriate according to Shoprite procedures. Action daily reports as set out in daily tasking and file for review daily Daily fleet planning for shortages and peak times Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety
Qualifications Essential Matric (Grade 12) Valid driver's license Tertiary Qualification/Logistics degree is advantageous
Experience Essential Prior experience in Fleet/Delivery operations 3 - 4 years supervisory experience Mechanical experience an added advantage
Knowledge and Skills Essential Proficient in both spoken and written English and at least one other of the official South African languages People management Good computer literacy (MS Word and MS Excel, Office365) Vehicle knowledge, linking activity to costs Route/area knowledge
