Job Description


Our client in the Hospitality industry is currently looking for a Food & Beverage Director, in Cape Town, Western Cape.Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to: Board of Directors and Managing Directors
  • Operational Management:
  • Oversee daily operations of all food and beverage outlets, including restaurants, bars, room service, and banquets.
  • Ensure high standards of service quality, guest satisfaction, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all F&B outlets.
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the F&B offerings and guest experiences.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to align F&B strategies with overall hotel goals.
  • Identify market trends and incorporate them into the strategic planning process.
  • Financial Management:
  • Prepare and manage the F&B department budget, including forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Monitor financial performance, implement cost control measures, and optimize revenue generation.
  • Analyse financial reports to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the F&B team to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the F&B team and with other departments.
  • Guest Experience:
  • Maintain a strong presence in the F&B outlets, engaging with guests to ensure satisfaction and gather feedback.
  • Address guest complaints and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Supplier and Vendor Management:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure high-quality products and services.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage supplier agreements to achieve cost-effective procurement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel environment.
  • Proven track record of successful F&B management, including operational, strategic, and financial aspects.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage trends, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and budget management.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Remuneration:
  • Up to R40 000 per month.
