Job SummaryMy client has several projects running, and is running out of hands. Contracts are offered on a 6 week basis, with possibility of re-utilisation on other projects.My client is a leading shopfitting and installation company in South Africa. With a strong commitment to excellence and innovation, they strive to create exceptional experiences for their clients. They are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Foreman to manage installation / construction projectsAs Foreman, you will be responsible for managing the site and work closely with the Project Manager, you will ensure the successful execution of the project within the specified timeframe and quality standards. Your role will involve coordinating and supervising all related tasks, managing the workforce, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the Project Manager to understand project requirements, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Supervise and manage the team, including subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Oversee the installation of fixtures, fittings, and equipment, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Monitor and enforce safety regulations and best practices on-site, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure work is progressing according to schedule and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the shopfitting and installation process, collaborating with the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of work progress, including daily reports, timesheets, and material usage.
  • Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, providing regular updates on project status, challenges, and achievements.
  • Ensure compliance with project budget and assist in cost control measures.
  • Train and mentor junior team members, promoting skill development and a positive work culture.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Foreman
  • Strong knowledge of shopfitting and installation processes, materials, and techniques.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in shopfitting, construction, or a related field are desirable.
