Manage the Mechanical Contractors on a monthly basis (Labour Requirements);
Plan for sufficient personnel in SVM taking into account workload, leave and training requirements;
Manage the Flying Technician rosters for the Regional stations; Initiate overtime for technicians when required to meet planned dates/AOG situations;
Provide expert troubleshooting assistance on the aircrafts, and direct technicians to remedy the faults;
Work with Engineering and Fault Analyses to minimise recurring defects;
In collaboration with the Production Controller, manage the tasks schedule, A-Check forecasting and planning;
Ensure quality is built in during A-Checks, both interior and exterior; - Maintain consistency and adhere to compliance and quality standards;
Effectively address minor defects during A-Checks to prevent them from escalating into major problems, thereby avoiding costly repairs and extensive downtime;
Oversee and manage the daily workload for SVM;
Oversee deferred and recurring defects; - Conduct meticulous inspections during A-Checks to avert the emergence of more severe issues;
Verify the efficiency of spares and tooling and approve them accordingly;
Provide input into the shift roster; - Ensure that the team adheres to strict safety protocols and regulatory requirements;
Engage with all suppliers/stakeholders, including Flight Operations, etc. (Regional);
Build and maintain relationships with all suppliers/stakeholders across all stations where applicable (Regional and domestic);
Oversee the team and report on the team is performance;
Provide overall guidance to the team;
Set team goals in order to meet the overall business need;
Oversee that the recurrent training, on the job training, and the mentoring of the technicians are being conducted effectively;
Provide input into the annual budget;
Provide daily feedback to Maintenance Control Centre and to Management regarding aircraft status.
