Foreman (workshop)
Job Description
To oversee the maintenance of Council vehicles and Heavy Plant through the management of subordinate staff.
Key Responsibility AreasControl subordinate staff.
Issue work and work instructions, including outside breakdown companies.
Diagnose defects on a variety of vehicles.
Supervise work carried out by artisans.
Maintain safe working practices and comply with OSH Act.
Train staff as required.
Assists and relieve immediate supervisor as and when required.
Discipline subordinates.
Assist the Superintendent to monitor the activities of the standby generator maintenance.
Allocate the use of workshop vehicles to sub-ordinates and monitor the usage thereof.

Essential RequirementsTrade Tested Artisan (Petrol or Diesel or Construction Plant or Body Builder or Spray Painter).
Valid motor vehicle driving license (Code EC).
Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
4 years relevant post qualification experience.
Computer Literacy.
Preferred Requirements5 Years relevant post qualification experience.
