Our client in Retail space based in Woodmead in JHB is looking for a Franchise Area Manager. The successful candidates will implement and maintain all aspects of the Franchise System within their region with the aim of maintaining Company standards and assisting Franchise Partners in growing a profitable business.The candidate needs to display a strong understanding of general management so that they can coach and guide Franchise Partners with regards to operational requirements, human resources, training, financial management and marketing support.Key Competencies:Sound business understanding including analysing financial statements.Drive businesses to deliver sustainable profits.Self-directed and able to work independently outside of the Support Office environment.Exceptional communication skills (spoken, telephonic and written).Able to manage conflict in a mature responsible manner.Organised and systematic.Detail oriented.Computer Literate (Word, Outlook, Excel, Internet Explorer, ESP).Punctual.Able to function under pressure in a fast-moving environment.Able to manage multiple stores.Responsibilities:Operational Support:Visit stores to conduct Quality Assurance Reviews, Business Reviews and offer feedback and corrective support to Franchise Partners within the specified cycle.Corrective actions, to be communicated face to face and in writing within 72 hours of visit (QAR Report).Ensure that all Operational Standards and Operating Systems are adhered to as per the Franchise Agreement and Operating Manual.Manage and lead company owned stores on a rotational basis.Based on financial performance and QAR results, train and coach Franchise Partners onhow to:Set budgets and drive sales growthControl stock levels and replenish inventory effectivelyManage operational costsRun A Profitable Franchise ModelManage Hygiene StandardsControl staff scheduling and numbers (amount of staff) to drive effective customer serviceEnsure that all citizens are trained and qualified for their roles. Offer additional in-Reporting:All QAR reports to be completed as per the QAR schedule implemented by the Regional Operations Manager.All QAR reports to be sent out within 72 hours of the store visit.Any formal meetings or communication with the Franchise Partners to be documented in writing and filed under the store history.Opening and revamping new stores:Participate in activity meetings with Franchise Partners and oversee all operational logistics with the Franchise Partner when opening new stores including:Communicating opening timelines with suppliers thereby ensuring that all items such as (not limited to): IT systems, inventory, telephone lines and internet requirements are in place (as per responsibilities in opening checklist)Manage in-store training placements and training timelines for Franchise Partners and their team in conjunction with the Services Department.Assist in receiving, merchandising and pricing stock in preparation for opening. To Serve as team leader to coordinate the opening of the store on merchandising day with the Franchise Partners, Services department and citizens.Escalate any changes or potential problems to the Regional Operations Manager and or Store Development team.Help manage the revamp cycle of your area and the brandsTraining and Developmental Support:Oversee ongoing training in store to ensure that Franchise Partners and employees attend all required training, in conjunction with the Services department.Assist Franchise Partners with talk shows and on-site training where required.Facilitate training if and when needed.Human Resources:Ensure that all HR standards are met in store (work contracts, work permits, job descriptions, disciplinary guidelines, remuneration structures are in place and in line with Company guidelines as well as the Bargaining Council, Franchise Partner is registered for UIF, PAYE, COIDA, SDL, Braining council where applicable)
