Junior - Midweight Freelance Graphic Designer (REMOTE)

About the Role

Adrolism is seeking a passionate and highly skilled female freelance Graphic Designer to assist with a diverse range of projects across multiple industries. This is a remote position that requires the designer to be within a 20km radius of Edenvale, Johannesburg, South Africa.

As a key creative contributor, you will be responsible for social media designs, print advertising, and ongoing retainer-based work. This role is ideal for a designer who thrives under pressure, can manage multiple projects efficiently, and consistently delivers high-quality work. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Execution

: Develop visually compelling designs across digital and print media, including social media graphics, ads, email campaigns, and marketing collateral.

Project Management

: Work efficiently under tight deadlines, adapting to shifting priorities while handling multiple projects simultaneously.

File & Workflow Management

: Maintain organized files, documentation, and production specifications to ensure smooth project execution and team collaboration.

Feedback & Refinement

: Incorporate team feedback, refine designs iteratively, and ensure final deliverables exceed expectations.

Requirements

Experience

: 2-4 years of hands-on experience in graphic design and branding.

Software Proficiency

: Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint).

Creative Expertise

: Strong illustration skills, ability to create designs aligned with client corporate identity, deep understanding of color theory, and solid design principles.

Adaptability

: Ability to work in fast-paced environments, meet tight deadlines, and balance multiple projects.

English Speaking

: Must have strong communication skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirement: Tertiary certification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field from a reputable institution.

Technical Requirements

This is an example of the type of workstation we'd like, but we're looking for a solid setup to ensure efficient and smooth workflow:

PC/Laptop Specifications (Minimum Recommended for Designers)

: Processor: Intel Core i5 or i7 (9th Gen or newer) / AMD Ryzen 5 or 7. RAM: 16GB DDR4 or DDR5 (32GB preferred but 16GB acceptable). Graphics Card: NVIDIA GTX 1060 or similar / AMD Radeon RX 5700 or higher.

Storage

: A solid-state drive (SSD) is essential for optimal performance, with

at least 512GB SSD

(1TB+ preferred). This is key to ensuring efficient design workflow and file handling. Monitor: 24-inch or larger, IPS panel, 1920x1080 resolution or higher.

Mac Users

: MacBook Pro M1, M2, or newer with at least 16GB RAM (32GB preferred).

Software

: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

Internet

: Fibre connection (Minimum 40 Mbps). Ethernet cable for a stable connection.

Backup Power

: Inverter and UPS or an alternative solution to prevent downtime during load shedding.

Location Requirement

Within a 20km radius of Edenvale, Johannesburg.

Advantageous Skills

(Not a requirement)

Web Design Skills (HTML, CSS, or UI/UX design experience). Photography Skills (Owning a camera is a plus).

Time Commitment

40 hours per week. 8-hour workdays.
