 Well established Investment Company is recruiting for a Fund Accountant to perform the Fund Accountant and Corporate Accountant responsibilities within the Finance Department
Minimum Requirements:
Accounting degree
Experience and knowledge within the Fund Accountant arena
3 – 5 work experience
Computer literature
Familiar with accounting packages
Key Duties:
Fund Accounting
Importing of daily bank statements
Receipting of contributions – weekly
Completion of bank reconciliations – weekly
Follow-up and clearing of reconciling items identified
Determining of net amount to be invested or disinvested from Custodian – weekly
Capturing of investments on the online banking system for release to Custodian
Reconciliation of FSB rules account
Capturing of exits onto the online banking system
FAIS Regulatory requirements – ensure adherence to these requirements
FSB requirements – Ensure levies are paid timorously, adhering to FSB regulatory requirements
Preparation of monthly management accounts
Accrual and payment of fund expenses (trustees, auditors, etc.)
Coordinating the preparation of the audit pack for the annual fund audits
Preparation of annual financial statements
Obtaining trustee approval and sign-off on the AFS
Submission of AFS to FSB via online system
Preparation of the SARB quarterly reports
Obtain sign-off on the SARB reports
Assistance in the preparation of trustee board pack information
Monthly submissions to SARS (EMP201)
Annual reconciliation and submissions to SARS (EMP 501)
Corporate Accounting
Capturing of invoices onto accounting package monthly
Capturing of payments onto the online banking system daily
Performing the bank reconciliation s
Updating the fixed asset register
Ensure the insurance of assets is in place, as and when equipment is purchased; and checking on annual renewal
