As a Front Office Manager, you will take the helm of guest interactions, ensuring that each encounter is a seamless blend of warmth, efficiency, and unparalleled service. Your role extends beyond the initial welcome; you become the storyteller, orchestrating a journey that unfolds from check-in to cherished memories.Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric
  • Hospitality diploma / experience
  • Working knowledge of Opera
  • Computer literate
  • Familiar with the duties and procedures of the Front Office Department
Main Duties:
  • Maximise room revenue, room sales and achieve maximum room rates
  • Responsible for the financial aspects of the Front Desk Operation by ensuring that all charges raised and deviances recorded
  • Ensure all debtors are recorded, accounted for, and all supporting documentation is gathered and given to the accounts department
  • Adhere to operating systems and procedures for the Front Desk Department in compliance with company standards and procedures
  • Act as Host Manager when working DM shifts
  • Implement and monitor guest services throughout the unit in accordance with company standards and requirements
  • Liaise daily between Front Desk and Maintenance departments to ensure all units are maintained
  • Ensure that all fruit platters, mineral waters, and other room drops are ordered accurately, and delivered to rooms on time with correct serving utensils
  • Check and return rooms to reception as soon as they are ready
  • Perform duty manager shifts, including opening and closing the hotel, receiving deliveries, checking guest satisfaction in the restaurant, opening and closing of the conference centre, membership sign up, and ensuring liaison between Front Desk, Maintenance, and Housekeeping on a daily basis
  • Conduct daily pit checks and credit checks
  • Ensure detailed handover of shifts is done in an orderly and unrushed manner
  • Record and store all lost property
  • Report public area maintenance problems to the relevant department immediately
  • Follow up and rectify all guest complaints immediately and professionally
  • Maintain a positive impression of the reception area by keeping it neat, tidy, and orderly
