Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Conservation or Wildlife Management is mandatory.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a comparable role within a similar 5-star bush/beach Lodge.
Essential certifications including FGASA Level 2 with completed Lead Trails, First Aid, ARH, PrDP, rifle proficiency/SAPS Competency Certificate, and CATHSSETA/DEAT/NDT Registration.
Inland skipper's license required.
Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and leadership qualities.
Proficiency in computer operations with the capacity to manage stock and equipment.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a hands-on environment and handle pressure effectively.
Roles and Responsibilities
:
Develop and execute maintenance schedules, including preventive measures, and possess practical skills for daily maintenance tasks.
Oversee property maintenance encompassing vehicles, roads, bush, solar systems, fences, dams, etc.
Lead wildlife preservation efforts to combat poaching and ensure the wellbeing of the reserve's ecosystem.
Curate guided experiences for guests, organizing activities such as drives, bushwalks, marine walks, kayaking, fishing, surfing, and sandboarding.
Exemplify excellent hosting skills, demonstrating initiative and setting an example for the team.
Manage all aspects of staff and HR, including monthly wages, leave recording, department oversight, and staff discipline.
Maintain high standards of service and attention to detail to enhance the guest experience.
Conduct regular inspections to uphold lodge cleanliness and quality standards.
Provide monthly reports to the owner on lodge activities and noteworthy occurrences.
Collaborate with non-resident owners to keep them informed about reserve events.
Contribute to the children's activity program.
Proficiency in Xhosa is advantageous.
Must have a commendable track record and stable employment history.
Must be comfortable living on site in a private cottage in remote area.
