GARMENT TECHNOLOGIST - JHB
SALARY: R20 000 CTC Dependent on experience
Liaise with all suppliers to ensure they are following the critical path and managing timelines.

• Handling fabrics to ensure they are appropriate for the chosen design as well as MOQ and lead times are considered.
• Create tech packs together with product team with informed construction knowledge.
• Creation of overall spec for each garment as well grade rules and graded spec.
• Proofreading tech pack so that all visible issues and errors are dealt with at that stage Fit sample, PPS and BPS.
• Have a clear overview of each collection to make the process run smoothly.
• Knowledge of how to improve the quality of garments to a higher level.
• Work with the in-house computer system to liaise with offshore factories to answer queries on technical specs.
• Attend fit meetings for the collections you are overseeing.
• Working with product developers to give fit comments to the different suppliers , through text, pictures, and diagrams in tech packs.
• Ensure tech packs are kept up to date and accurate after fittings and range reviews as well as production tracker.
• Sample tracker needs to be updated on a weekly basis to ensure suppliers will have Marketing shoot samples ready in time as well as bulk production.
• Proficient in Excel, basic illustrator and quick to pick up new computer systems.
• Knowledgeable in garment construction and pattern
• Excellent fabric knowledge
• Knowledge of how to improve the quality of garments to a higher level.
• Comfortable working to a strict schedule as well as setting schedules for different suppliers
• Proof reading to amend tech packs for different collections.
• Problem solving abilities to address issue before they reach sampling as well as issues occurred during the sampling stage.
• Able to measure garment accurately as per spec.
• 1-2 years of experience in a similar or complimentary role
