GC Dramatic Arts Teacher- JhbFull job descriptionThe Girls College invites applications for the abovementioned position which will be available from 1 September 2025. Experience in teaching Dramatic ArtsPrevious experience in an IEB school will be a distinct advantageA passion for the Performing Arts and in particular, Dramatic ArtsPossess a Bachelors Degree in Dramatic Arts/ Performing Arts and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)Previous experience teaching in girls schools is an advantageThe ability to foster and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholdersAn ability to be flexible, innovative and embrace changeExcellent organisational and communication skills, and experience in organising Performing Arts eventsComplete administration, and provide guidance and supervision to students in the extra-curricular Dramatic Arts programme, such as the Junior Drama Club and otherSupport and run with various workshops, including devising and directing productions (Grades 10-12), such as the Junior Drama Showcase, FEDA, the Senior One Act Play Festival, and EisteddfodsPreparing students for practical assessments at the end of each term (Grades 8-12)A fundamentally future-orientated approach to teaching and learningThe ability and willingness to incorporate technology in the classroom and for administrative tasksAn unequivocal commitment to working as part of an accomplished teamAn awareness of the nature of the school and willingness to commit to its all-round ethos, co-curricular activities and pastoral approachAn understanding that this role will require after hours work in the evening and over weekendsAbility to promote and embrace diversity and inclusionProof of registration with SACE supported by a sexual offenders clearance certificate
