Previous experience with livestock health both cattle sheep and chickens
Experience with regenerative farming and strip grazing is a bonus.
Computer literate
Maintenance orientated.
Must be organised
Garden experience is helpful.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Manage health and nutrition to optimize the wellbeing and productivity of our animals.
Implement and oversee HDG and rotational grazing practises. Optimizing pasture and contributing to health of the land and livestock.
Manage and organize daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal farm activities. Efficiently coordinating staff and tasks. Expertly organised planning is required.
Demonstrate sound financial management as the manager will be in charge of budgets allocations and expenditure. Key performance criteria will be the management of cashflow and ensuring maximum sustainable profit. Coordinate and find the best prices from suppliers for anything needed by the farm. Eg. Feed, fertilizer etc.
Knowledge and understanding of general farm and machinery maintenance and creating and scheduling routine maintenance across the farm and its assets. They are to be kept in excellent working condition.
Ability to drive and operate various farm vehicles from tractors to TLBs and bakkies.
Welcoming guests and organising bookings etc. Ensuring their experience and comfort on the farm during their stay is paramount. In charge and oversee all security and access on the farm. Also overseeing storage space as an income generator for the farm.
The person needs to discipline and extremely organised and willing to work after normal hours as and when the job requires.
Be able to coordinate and oversee a vegetable garden and small orchard.
