Must have a BSc Polymer Science, or equivalent tertiary qualification in Polymer Science field
Minimum 10 years' proven commercial experience, in commodity raw materials is essential
Experience and knowledge of regulatory requirements in the plastics industry will be required
Must be highly numerate giving quotes, placing orders, preparing reports or working with spreadsheets etc.
Experience in a multinational company on operational level will be an advantage
Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to travel
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Managing the distribution of commodity raw materials to existing customers.
Maintaining the existing customer base, as well as identifying new opportunities.
Developing and expanding product segments with strategic importance.
Creating and submitting offers, which includes price responsibility.
Negotiating supplier contracts.
Processing customer inquiries and complaints.
Providing technical advice to customers on the development of formulations, including appropriate sampling.
Conducting market analysis of customers, products, competitors and application markets.
Maintaining reports and documentation in the CRM system (Salesforce).
Performing budget and requirements planning.
Collaborating and participating in trade fairs and customer seminars as sales promotion measures.
Working closely with suppliers and supply chain to ensure an optimal stock holding.
