Hire Resolve is actively seeking a highly motivated and seasoned General Manager to join our client's team within a food manufacturing company. Additionally, maintaining a strong customer focus is crucial, ensuring high standards of quality, service, and fostering positive client relationships.Responsibilities

• Develop and execute operational plans to meet production and financial targets.
• Strengthen customer partnerships while pursuing strategic objectives.
• Supervise all departments to ensure efficient operations, with a focus on food safety and loss control.
• Establish values, mission, and goals to optimize yield, reduce costs, and ensure product mix requirements.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Monitor costs, optimize resources, and ensure profitability.
• Collaborate with the financial department to track operational productivity and cost reduction.
• Align financial and operational objectives to drive business profitability.
• Oversee production from live birds to final product distribution, ensuring quality, safety, and cost efficiency.
• Stay informed about industry trends and implement new technologies for efficiency.
• Enhance organizational processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure timely and budget-compliant operational activities to prioritize business performance.
• Manage plant and equipment maintenance efficiently.
• Drive new product development through collaboration, innovation, and market alignment.
• Cultivate strong relationships within the internal supply chain and with suppliers, contractors, and customers.
• Communicate regularly with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Allocate resources effectively to support exceptional customer service.
• Lead and develop employees through training, performance evaluation, and succession planning.
• Prioritize critical tasks that directly impact business performance in managing employee activities.
• Resolve conflicts between departments and employees, emphasizing positive impact on team relationships.
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols to safeguard product quality and customer trust.
• Collaborate closely with legal and safety departments to ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• A tertiary degree in production/engineering, preferably with a focus on FMCG food technology and manufacturing.

• Additional advantage with further technical or commercial qualifications.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in managing a business in the FMCG food manufacturing sector.
• Proven track record of implementing world-class manufacturing practices.
• Proficiency in both English and Afrikaans languages.
• Essential understanding of financial performance and control.
• Experience in chicken/meat processing is beneficial.
• A hands-on leadership approach, demonstrating firmness and high performance standards.
• Proficiency in managing and leading overall manufacturing/supply chain performance in a large, complex plant.
