Specializing in manufacturing of fine chemicals and formulated products, CPT is a major supplier in the animal health sector and fine chemicals to industries varying from mining to food and beverage. The company stands out for its ability to integrate manufacturing processes, including active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). CPT exports to Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia and operates under GMP and ISO 9001:2015 standards on a 10,000-square meter site with 75 employees.As the business expands, a new role of General Manager has been created to support the company in achieving its next level of success.

1. Strategic Planning & Implementation: Support and business growth, profitability, and long-term sustainability action plans as in the strategy and balance scorecard through collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
2. Team Leadership & Development: Build and lead a world-class management team, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture.
3. Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and continuous improvement across all business functions that report into the position
4. Financial Oversight: Oversee the achieving of companys P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and optimizing expenses to meet and exceed financial objectives.
5. Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and governance principles, maintaining business continuity and effectiveness.
6. Customer-Centric Focus: Drive a customer-centric approach across the organization, prioritizing customer needs in all business aspects.
7. Industry Engagement: Stay informed on industry trends and regulations, and support when necessary, by representing the company in relevant forums and sharing insights with the
management team.
8. ESG Strategy: Develop and implement an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy aligned with corporate priorities, including issuing annual sustainability reports.
9. Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Regularly report on business performance, trends, and outcomes to the board and shareholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
A core competency is the application of entrepreneurial skills and methodologies in managing, leading and decision making. Showing a willingness to take calculated (entrepreneurial) risk, and
further develop an entrepreneurial spirit in the culture of the business.Education: Bachelors degree in business science or equivalent, preferably coupled with an MBA.
Experience: 10-15 years of senior management experience, ideally in the manufacturing or formulation industries. Expertise in ISO standards is preferred and knowledge of GMP Standard will be beneficial. Having demonstrated a consistent record of success in delivering exceptional results in a highly dynamic and competitive environment, with a deep understanding of the South African and African manufacturing industries. Proven expertise in driving commercial growth and profitability, coupled with a record in effective implementation of strategy and balance scorecard initiatives.
