General Manager: Road Transport Operations - MidrandFull job descriptionWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager for our Road Transport Operations. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of our transportation services, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance while driving operational excellence. You will lead a team of professionals to deliver outstanding service to our clients, optimize fleet performance, and manage budgets effectively.Key responsibilities:Leadership and Management:Lead the transport operations team and develop and implement strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency and service qualityOperations Oversight:Oversee daily operations of road transport, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and service delivery timelinesBudget:Prepare and manage the annual budget for road transport operations, ensuring financial targets are metFinancial Management:Analyze financial data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvementCompliance:Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations, safety standards, and company policiesStakeholder Relations:Build and maintain strong relationships with Transporters and other stakeholders, ensure prompt resolutions to queriesReporting:Prepare regular reports on operational performance, financial metrics, and project updates for senior managementMinimum requirements:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Masters degree preferredProven experience (5+ years) in road transport operations management, with a strong track record of leadershipIn-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practicesStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis toolsStrong financial acumen and experience managing budgetsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skillsFor more information please contact:Hope Nkanyane
