Job Description

We are seeking a skilled General Practitioner with a specialization in Anesthesia to join our team at a 43-bed private hospital in Piet Retief. The role primarily involves providing Anesthesia services for theatre cases and may include daytime cover for the emergency department.Key Responsibilities:

• Anesthesia Services:

• Administer anesthesia for surgical procedures in accordance with established protocols and patient needs.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia to ensure safety and appropriate recovery.
• Manage anesthesia-related emergencies as they arise.

2. Emergency Department Cover (Optional):

• Provide daytime cover for the emergency department as needed.
• Assess and manage urgent medical cases presenting to the hospital.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

3. Clinical Excellence:

• Uphold high standards of clinical practice and patient safety.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient records and procedural details.
• Participate in continuous professional development activities to stay updated with latest medical advancements.

4. Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings and case discussions

Qualifications and Experience:

• Medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a General Practitioner.
• Diploma in Anesthesia (or equivalent qualification) recognized by HPCSA.
• Proven experience in providing anesthesia services in a hospital setting, preferably in a private hospital environment.
• Experience or willingness to cover emergency department shifts is advantageous.
