RPO Recruitment is currently working with a leading mining company in Mpumalanga who is looking for an experienced Geologist to join their team.As a Geologist in the mining industry, you will be responsible for various geological tasks including conducting geological surveys, analyzing geological data, and providing expert insights to support mining operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and utilize your knowledge and skills to contribute to the efficient and safe exploration and extraction of mineral resources.Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain the Geological Management System
• Advise and consult with the Mine Manager and the Management team on operational geology issues
• Conduct legal Geological inspections and submit reports on deviations and good practices observed
• Prepare and submit monthly statistical reports to the management team
• Collaborate with the Department of Mineral Resources and Mine Manager on geological matters
• Follow up on Geological audit reports, action plans, and incident reports
• Provide input into mine planning processes
• Conduct technical valuation of coal deposits, resources, and reserves
• Perform geological due diligence on coal prospects
• Compile Prospecting Work Programmes
• Engage with interested and affected parties regarding Environmental Management Program processes
• Provide professional geological consultancy to support the efficient, safe, and profitable exploration of ore bodies

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• BSc (Hons) in Geology or related field
• Registered with SACNASP as a Professional Natural Scientist
• Minimum of 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in Coal Mining Geology
• Extensive experience in operational and exploration geology, including drilling, grade control, and geophysics
• Extensive experience in coal resource estimation and modelling
