Our client is currently seeking a motivated professional to join them as a General Ledger Accountant, this individual will handle general accounting activities within the accounting department. Reporting to the GL Accounting Manager, this goal-oriented, driven, and innovative individual will thrive in a multicultural and highly competitive environment, partnering with various internal customers within finance to ensure the accounting function operates at a level that exceeds expectations.Their Finance Team operates in a vibrant, fast-paced, and demanding performance-based environment where internal and external customers drive results. With multiple reporting lines and strict deadlines, this team maintains a strong internal customer focus and aims to become a valued partner within the finance team. • Prepare and process journals with appropriate support.
• Ensure entries meet IFRS and US GAAP standard
• Analyze AP transactions and monthly accruals for accuracy
• Conduct month-end expense variance analysis and communicate results
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts per corporate and Blackline guidelines
• Analyze inter-company balances across currencies
• Ensure current and valid bank signatories, review bank accounts for allocations.
• Manage relationships with banks, accounts payable, and Reserve Bank submissions
• Conduct annual fixed asset verification and manage asset registers for tax
• Identify control deficiencies, analyze root causes, and drive remediation

Job Experience & Skills Required:Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• BCom Accounting
• CTA
• CA(SA)

Experience:

• Newly qualified CA(SA)
• Completed articles within in well recognized audit firm

Skills & Competencies:

• Team player with the ability to manage work activities independently
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with figures
• Strong planning and organizing skills, proactive mindset, and the ability to prioritize work deliverables in a creative environment
• Ability to work independently and think quickly in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
