This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in shaping the legal landscape of a major telecommunications group. As the GM: Legal (M&A), you will be at the forefront of managing and supporting all aspects of general commercial legal transactions and initiatives, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions. This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic, multi-geographic environment, dealing with evolving industry ecosystems and driving growth through business intelligence and standardization.Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with the Group's M&A objectives and risk tolerance
• Lead due diligence processes for potential acquisition targets, evaluating strategic fit and risks
• Provide expert guidance on capital structure and financial modeling for M&A initiatives
• Negotiate complex contracts and agreements to ensure successful deal closures
• Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential prospects and tailor business proposals
• Drive risk mitigation and ensure compliance with governance structures for M&A initiatives
• Lead bid teams on new license bids, providing insight on valuation and shareholder structures
• Oversee post-deal integration activities to ensure business continuity
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and compliance across the organization

• Minimum of a 4-year tertiary degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field
• MBA or equivalent Master's qualification
• 5+ years of experience as a senior manager specializing in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, or M&A
• Proven track record of successful origination and execution of M&A activities
• Strong understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and customer behavior
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Fluency in English
• Willingness to travel regionally and internationally as required
