Responsibilities will include the following:
Job description:
Provide classroom-based and remote learner support to improve learner performance in Mathematics and Natural Science.
Data collection and analysis for all school.
Design and finalize school profiles with baseline academic performance metrics.
Administer a diagnostic test to assess baseline knowledge.
Implement structured revision plans, use educational apps, and track assessment performance.
Establish a learner Record of Achievement tracking individual progress.
Stakeholder management, including district officers, principals, HoDs, and educators.
Conduct career assessments, and STEM field trips.
Facilitate hands-on learning through Work Experience, Artisans Clubs (using PhET Simulation online).
Organize STEM competitions and Youth Squared activities to increase engagement.
Write weekly, monthly, termly and annual reports.
Job requirements:
B.Ed. Degree in Mathematics and Natural or Physical Science, PGCE or equivalent qualification.
Three + years' experience teaching Mathematics and Natural Sciences in Senior Phase Grades 8-9 and proven track record.
Up-to-date CAPS curriculum knowledge and digital education.
Be able to build relationships and communicate effectively.
Be competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point required for submitting reports.
Be able to use any form of learner management systems for teaching, assessment and feedback.
Be available on weekdays, as well as Saturdays and Holidays.
Be available to attend Maths Centre induction in Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
Be flexible and willing to travel extensively.
Be open to the use of innovation in teaching and the development of teachers and learners.
SACE registration.
Hold a valid driver's license; own a functional car with comprehensive insurance.
