Roles and responsibilities:

• The preferred individual will be detail oriented and have the ability to work in a team and on their own. The ability to create accurate, tidy, elegant and contemporary layouts is important. The primary role is to design guidelines working in conjunction with our brand and signage design teams. Specific role will be to illustrate out a system of signage within a design set and document this in guidelines documents for future use by the client. Inclusive of illustrations, elevations, details, sizes, material specifications and descriptions. Exceptional design layout skills are critical to this role.
• Create guideline documents detailing signage families in InDesign and Illustrator showing sign types, material specifications, sizes and details
• Integrate with the extended design team, understand design reports from various disciplines, read plans, review presentations and appreciate the destination aesthetic and space function.
• Understand the project design, develop the signage design family into detailed and illustrated art works to be used by contractors and suppliers for manufacturing.
• Understand various materials and their manufacturability within signage.
• Roll out approved signage systems for hotels, resorts, retail environments, master planned mixed-use developments, amongst others and visualize these as Adobe illustrations including dimensions, type grids, icon set, etc.
• Create high-quality, structured design presentations and reports that include illustrations, materials, sizes and specifications.
• Co-ordinate with the extended design team of architects, landscapers and interior designers etc.

Successful candidates:

• Will have the ability to work independently and to coordinate with local and international teams
• Have a passion for design, detail and the software they are required to work in, with a clean aesthetic
• Collaborate with concept design and technical teams.
• Experience with brand signage or system signage is a benefit, whether in design studio or factory
• Experience with signage on large scale projects is a benefit.
• Collaborate with design and technical teams
• Be able to read architectural plans and understand interior design documents
• Understand fabrication materials, design and graphic design layouts
• Strong knowledge of Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Strong knowledge and experience in 3D Rhino and Keyshot
• Experience in creating guideline documents for signage or branding
• Minimum 2 years experience in reputable graphic design, branding studio or other design firm
• Exhibit a strong approach when it comes to graphic layouts, detailing and compiling of design reports.
• Layouts for brochures, annual reports, guidelines

Qualifications:
Degree in any of these fields:

• Graphic Design
• Fine Arts
• Wayfinding and environmental graphics
• Industrial design
• Interior Design

Experience in a medium to large design agency or industry environment
Experience as a graphic designer or DTP
Experience of working on multiple projects
Team player
Expert in Adobe illustrator, InDesign and photoshop including deep knowledge of: (Essential)

• Styles, templates, page management, automation
• Data import into Illustrator and InDesign
• Measuring tools in Illustrator like Cad Tools or similar
