Job SummaryPosition: Greenkeeper - Golf Course
Location: Beach Resort, Zanzibar
Salary: USD 1,300 - 1,400 per month + ZSSF $350 (Retirement Benefit)
Total Monthly Earning: Up to $1,750 (including bank transfer + ZSSF)

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Greenkeeper to maintain and enhance the quality of our golf course, ensuring it meets the highest standards.Position Overview: As the Greenkeeper, you will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the golf course greens, fairways, and other surfaces. Your role is crucial in ensuring the course meets all golfing regulations and standards, including USGA regulations. You will manage a team to maintain the course's pristine condition, focusing on the care and maintenance of all turf, plants, and landscape elements.Key Responsibilities: * Golf Course Maintenance:

• Set and maintain the golf course, including cutting cups, setting tees, repairing greens, raking bunkers, and mowing greens and fairways.
• Maintain bunkers, greens, driving range, and tee boxes; prune trees and perform pest control.
• Irrigation Management:

• Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems to ensure optimal water distribution across the course.
• Handle the operation, troubleshooting, and repair of both manual and computerized irrigation systems.
• Equipment Maintenance:

• Oversee the maintenance and operation of greenkeeping equipment, particularly John Deere Golf Carts and irrigation systems.
• Ensure proper care and continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Special Projects:

• Assist in special construction projects related to course development and maintenance as required.
• Team Management:

• Lead and manage a team responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the golf course, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Compliance and Standards:

• Ensure the golf course complies with all relevant golfing regulations and standards, with a particular focus on USGA regulations.
• Maintain knowledge of fertilizer and pesticide applications to promote healthy turf and plant life.
• Miscellaneous Duties:

• Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager, contributing to the overall success and quality of the resort.

Qualifications:

• Education: Certification in landscape design, horticulture, or arboriculture is preferred.
• Experience: 5-10 years of experience in handling golf course maintenance, particularly in coastal areas.
• Skills:

• Strong knowledge of USGA regulations and standards.
• Proficient in the maintenance and operation of golf course equipment.
• Ability to manage irrigation systems effectively.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of fertilizer and pesticide applications.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience working in a coastal area golf course.
• Familiarity with the maintenance and operations of John Deere Golf Carts.
