Job Description
Our client is a prominent company in the entertainment industry, known for its dynamic and fast-paced operations. With a diverse portfolio of businesses, they are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Group Accountant to join their team in Cape Town. The Group Accountant will be instrumental in overseeing the financial operations of the group, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting and forecasting, and supporting the consolidation and inter-company accounting processes!Duties:
- Manage the group consolidation process, ensuring that all subsidiary financials are accurately consolidated in line with IFRS/GAAP standards.
- Oversee and ensure proper inter-company accounting, including reconciliations of inter-company balances and elimination of inter-company transactions during consolidations.
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP and company policies.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the group, working closely with business units to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes for the group, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Qualifications:
- BCom Accounting
- A professional affiliation (Professional Accountant or CIMA)
- Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in a Group Accountant role, or similar position, preferably within the entertainment or media industry
