A dynamic group of companies dedicated to serving the global mining and agricultural industries is currently seeking an experienced and committed Group Accountant to join their Finance Department on a fixed-term, 6-month contract. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of our business units, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and delivering accurate financial reports.Duties:
- Consolidating Group Accounts: Analyze monthly financial reports, resolve queries with business units, assist subsidiary accountants with management packs, and prepare consolidated financial statements for management reporting.
- IFRS Compliance: Offer technical accounting recommendations, liaise with auditors, and stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations.
- Annual Audit: Coordinate the preparation for the annual audit, provide requested information, assist the CFO with year-end financial pack preparation and annual financial statements.
- Staff Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Support the CFO with various special projects as needed
- Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting
- Chartered Accountant designation
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
