Your main objective is to ensure completeness, compliance, and accuracy for ledgers across entities processed by local accountants in the shared service center. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, eager to learn and grow. This role covers entities in EMEA, APAC, and AMERICA, with potential for further development.   • Lead and manage a local team of accountants.
  • Ensure quality of key financial controls and governance.
  • Produce month-end financial ledgers on time, liaising with local accountants and uploading accurate data for relevant entities.
  • Conduct month-end reviews of detailed balance sheets, sub-ledgers, payroll, and tax reconciliations, ensuring consistency in approach and format.
  • Oversee monthly bank closures, including reconciliations and revaluations.
  • Ensure accountants maintain detailed subsidiary ledgers, asset registers, and monthly accounting of depreciation, debtors, creditors, and members accounts.
  • Monitor aged debtors and creditors.
  • Act as key contact for local and group audits, liaising with auditors.
  • Ensure accountants maintain cashbooks and cashflows for business entities.
  • Ensure correct cost center allocations for costs in line with the Ten MAID system.
  • Support operations teams by providing necessary reports and analysis.
  • Assist with month-end financial reports and posting journal entries.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and review accountants reconciliations to ensure completeness and standard.
  • Assist with ad-hoc group postings and maintaining holding company ledgers and
  • Support Finance on projects and tasks.
  • Support Ops teams by providing necessary reports and analysis.
  • Perform any other tasks and projects required by the wider finance team on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Keep up with financial policies, regulations, legislation, IFRS Standards, and exchange rate conversions
Job Experience & Skills Required:Qualifications:
  • Matric (Garde 12)
  • BCom Accounting
  • CIMA, SAIPA Professional Accountant (SA), or Associate General Accountant AGA (SA)
Experience:
  • Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles
  • Minimum of 4 years of practical work experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Minimum 2 years experience managing people.
  • Experience with shared service/finance operations management in a global/multi-site organisation is beneficial.
  • Experience in the Hospitality/Travel industry preferred
  • Experience creating and maintaining robust controls within centralised finance operations.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, driving a Best in Class approach.
  • Passion for automation and building efficient processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS), financial regulations, and taxation laws
Skills & Competencies:
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including procurement, sales, and engineering.
  • Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to upholding the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality in financial matters.
  • Self-motivation, excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • An analytical mind, keen eye for detail, and desire to probe further into data.
  • Ability to deliver to tight deadlines, such as month-end closures.
  • Knowledge of financial systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics Business Central General Ledger (previously Navision), is beneficial but not essential.
