Job Description

National company based in Woodstock in need of a suitable Group Consolidation & Tax Accountant. Your purpose will be Responsible for various technically oriented statutory reporting deliverables, most notably the compilation of monthly, quarterly, interim and year end reporting packs and annual financial statements; review of tax computations and general tax administration for Sea Harvest Group and its subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 - 5 years' experience within the Agricultural / FMCG environment.

You will be responsible for the following:

Statutory Reporting:

Compilation of monthly, quarterly, interim and year end reporting pack for the Group

Maintain consolidation journals and recons, including PPA and related goodwill, the foreign currency translation reserve and intercompany transactions and balance confirmations

Assist with the accounting of complex transactions throughout the Group including acquisitions and disposals of subsidiaries and restructuring transactions

Ensure the reporting timetable is adhered to, including communicating with the various subsidiaries to assist when needed and to communicate exceptions

Assist with interim and year end external audit queries and requests

Assist with the preparation of Group and subsidiaries statutory financial statements

Assist with the preparation of high-quality reports for presentation to the Audit Committee

Review of the monthly consolidation using the system, perform analytical procedures and follow up on unusual transactions and variances

Aligning subsidiaries reporting to the Group's requirements and policies

Perform an annual assessment of goodwill impairment in various CGUs

Assist in the valuation of financial assets/liabilities

Assist in training on reporting packs and provide assistance with submissions where required

Budgets / Forecasts:

Assist with the preparation of the consolidated balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement for forecasts and budgets

Assist with loading of data for forecast and budgets onto the reporting tool

Reporting tool (Adaptive):

Be the custodian and champion of the Group Reporting tool

Assist the group finance managers with loading quality financial information monthly and mapping of new TB accounts if needed

Drive further automation and optimization of financial reports within the Group

Maintaining and implementing the reporting tool to newly acquired subsidiaries

Tax Reporting & Administration:

Reviewing of tax schedules

Review of provisional tax calculations for Group entities

Assist with the preparation of responses to SARS tax queries

Maintenance of all Group tax opinions

Review of Subsidiaries tax returns

Maintain overall view of tax compliance in Group (VAT, PAYE, Income tax)

Other:

Researching on new IFRS standards and drafting accounting position papers o Assist with ad-hoc reporting and analysis

Other finance related projects

Qualifications and Requirements:

Matric/Grade 12 Certificate

Bachelor Degree in B. Com / B.Acc / B.Compt / B.Com (Hons)

Registered as a Chartered Accountant (CA/SA)

Minimum of 4 - 5 years of relevant experience in a Group consolidation/reporting role

Listed Group experience to an advantage

MS Office (advanced Excel working experience) and exposure to Sage Pastel, CaseWare

Experience from the agricultural / FMCG industry will be highly adv.
