Group Financial Accountant and Tax Finance
Cape Town - Western Cape - South AfricaAre you a detail-oriented financial professional with a passion for numbers and a strong background in tax compliance? Our global pharmaceutical client is looking for a Group Financial Accountant/Tax Specialist to join their dynamic team. This role involves providing accurate financial reports for the region and ensuring compliance with all tax regulations. If you have a strong understanding of IFRS and tax laws and can thrive under pressure, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.Key Accountabilities:

• Monitor developments of the SA Income Tax and VAT Act to ensure corporate tax compliance for the group
• Assist external consultants in the preparation of annual tax returns
• Prepare monthly VAT calculations and submit VAT returns for all group companies
• Complete IT14SD reconciliations
• Assist in resolving all tax-related queries
• Oversee group accounting activities required to maintain the organisations general ledger and overall financial accuracy
• Resolve complex accounting issues and assist other personnel in resolving financial issues
• Review the general ledger monthly to ensure accuracy in postings
• Track monthly OPEX spend and ensure monthly OPEX reports are generated
• Authorise expenditure within Levels of Authority
• Assume overall responsibility for the reporting function to ensure accurate and consistent reporting for the group
• Internal Interactions with Finance Team (local and global), Supply Chain Team, Operations Team, Commercial Team
• External Interactions with Auditors, Tax consultants, SARS, Banking institutions, In-licensing agreement partners

Qualifications and Experience:

• Newly qualified CA or 1-2 years post-article experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Technically proficient in IFRS and Tax
• SAP experience is advantageous
