A leading industrial supply manufacturer is looking for a bi-lingual (English & Afrikaans), Group Finance Controller.NON-NEGOTIABLES
Must have 3+ years finance experience from a business
Must be able to conduct business in Afrikaans
Must be a minimum of 3 years post articles
DUTIES:
Performing and updating of cash flow forecast for the group on a daily / weekly / monthly basis:
Accurate and timeous reporting on cash flow forecast
Analysis of variances between forecast and actual cash flow, to mitigate potential risk
Daily / weekly / monthly checking of foreign procurement department:
Daily checking of costing as performed by buying department;
Continuous checking of foreign purchases against supporting documentation;
Weekly reconciliation of forward exchange contracts and against bank accounts;
Weekly reconciliation of the payments to be made to foreign suppliers;
Monthly updating of forecasted imports from buying department;
Monthly reconciliation of foreign suppliers
Monthly reconciliation of foreign exchange variances (both Bank and Creditors)
Monthly update and reconciliation of foreign suppliers rebate targets
Overseeing the groups annual budgeting process including rolling budgets / forecasts
Review group management accounts (income statements, balance sheets and cash flows) together with the operational finance team and compare to cash flow forecasts and budget
Perform a group consolidation on management accounts (income statements, balance sheets and cash flows);
Providing support to the Group CFO and Operational Finance team as and when required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Financial Accounting (or similar) non-negotiable;
Honours degree in Financial Accounting (or similar) advantageous;
Successful completion of 3 years articles (preferable medium size firms) non-negotiable;
Minimum of 3 to 5 years commercial experience
Advanced excel non-negotiable:
Must be able to work with complex financial models and data bases;
Must be able to present complex financial information in a simplified format;
Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis
Must be able to communicate and present findings through financial modelling, forecasting and analysis in a clear and concise manner;
Good communication skills, with the ability to distil complex financial concepts into clear, concise insights;
REQUIRED SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE
Must be able to link financial modelling / forecasting with the operational aspects of the business (Strong business acumen);
Strategic mindset to identify opportunities and mitigating risks;
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data;
Acute attention to detail and accuracy;
Experience with foreign procurement processes including:
An understanding of foreign purchases, foreign creditors and foreign exchange;
An understanding of shipping terms, VAT, duties and freight clearing / forwarder accounts;
Lead times from different suppliers
Up to date knowledge of full IFRS (advantageous);
Must have prepared provisional tax calculations (first and second), and normal tax calculations;
Experience in a group environment, inter-company loans, debtors and creditors;
Must be able to work in a structured manner while under pressure to meet strict deadlines;
Must be a self-motivated;
Must be able to work alone and in a team environment.
