Reference number: 52365Please note if you are an internal employee on a fixed term contract please apply using an external candidate profile and not your employee profileMAIN PURPOSE OF JOBThe successful incumbent will be required to establish and maintain dedicated capabilities to support the development and deployment of core and common digital platforms and services for Mediclinic at Group level. The purpose of this position is to support the execution of the group's strategic digital initiatives and manage the core digital backbone, in order to position the Technology function for Mediclinic's emerging digital estate.KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  • Set, implement, and lead the digital platform strategy at Group and divisional level and execute on strategic initiatives within the Technology function
  • Build strategic and collaborative business relationships and partnerships with relevant external and internal stakeholders
  • Drive the Technology strategy execution process at Group-level and across all divisions, acting as a thought leader and peer/challenger to the divisional CIOs, strongly helping to position Mediclinic's technology function for lasting success, and engaging with Executive Committees as needed
  • Identify, direct and manage functional responsibilities and lead the identification, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of all Digital Platform & Services solutions to meet the technology and business expectations and needs
  • Research, investigate and provide thought leadership to drive debate, discussion, and decision-making about digital strategies and priorities across Mediclinic
  • Lead, drive and monitor the portfolio of Group digital platform projects within divisions; ensure alignment with overall strategy and allocate the right resources and skills to the managed initiatives
  • Investigate and realise technology synergies across the Group
  • Ensure development, implementation and adherence to Group Technology standards and policies with specific reference to digital platforms
  • Drive, manage and implement ad-hoc Group Technology projects/responsibilities, when required
  • Lead and manage direct and matrix reports within the team
REQUIRED EDUCATIONESSENTIAL EDUCATION
  • Relevant degree (e.g. BSc Informatics, BSc Computer Science, BSc Information Systems) or similar B-degree
DESIRED EDUCATION
  • Postgraduate degree in related field or Executive or Senior Management development programs or MBA
REQUIRED EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
  • 15 years experience managing applications and technology platforms in a digital and multinational organisation
  • 10 years in managing a technology unit and a team of technical specialists
  • A minimum of 5 years direct exposure to business functions such as marketing and sales, including selected Executive Committee and/or Board engagements, ideally in the business-to-consumer domain
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Relevant management experience in complex information technology space (ideally B2C) with focus on delivering digital platforms and related services in a multinational and multicultural organization
  • Very strong track record in managing technology vendors
  • Experience in leading or contributing to a technology strategy process as member of a multinational technology organization leadership team
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Strategic and pro-active business acumen and a sound understanding of business principles
  • Budget preparation and management, incl. development of sound business cases
  • Technology / digital architectures (digital / software platforms, networking, software applications, integration capabilities) and the ability to translate and combine these into feasible business solutions
  • Risk management, including Technology governance and cyber security
  • System development life cycle (SDLC) in an agile manner
  • Digital transforming healthcare industry operations - how digital is transforming/ changing the healthcare industry
  • Digital transformation in B2C space - how digital is transforming/ changing the consumer landscape ('consumerization')
  • Agile enterprise project and change management (incl. project steering committee)
  • Strategy development and digital transformation through various service delivery models (operational delivery, shared services and centres of expertise)
  • Infrastructure incl. cloud governance (incl. TCO and vendor management and personnel management)
  • Contract negotiation and management
  • Budgeting and financial management
  • Project and portfolio management
  • People management
  • Problem analysis and solving including the ability to influence/sell the problem and its solution
  • Business Partnering in an emerging adaptable way, ability to assert without destroying the business relationship
