You are a highly analytical and detail-oriented audit professional with a deep understanding of financial, operational, and compliance risk management. Your expertise enables you to provide strategic insights and recommendations to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability across the organization.With 5+ years of experience in internal audit, risk management, or compliance, ideally within a multi-country organization, you have a strong foundation in financial controls, forensic auditing, and governance frameworks. A professional certification such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, or CISA is strongly preferred.You have experience designing and implementing internal audit frameworks, leading risk assessments, and evaluating internal controls. Your ability to translate audit findings into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership will be key to your success in this role. You are known for your critical thinking, problem-solving mindset, and ability to foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.Given the nature of our operations, you must be comfortable navigating diverse regulatory environments, multiple currencies, and financial reporting standards while delivering timely and high-quality audit insights.This is a unique chance to shape the governance and compliance landscape of a fast-growing education group in Africa. Are you ready to take on the challenge?About the roleKey Responsibilities

  • Internal audit framework: Establish and oversee the internal audit function, defining policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Risk assessment & management: Identify, assess, and prioritize risks across Enko Educationxe2x80x99s network of schools and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Audit planning & execution: Develop and execute a risk-based internal audit plan covering financial, operational, and compliance aspects.
  • Internal controls & compliance: Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and ensure adherence to policies, regulations, and best practices.
  • Fraud prevention & investigation: Identify potential fraud risks, conduct forensic audits when necessary, and recommend preventive measures.
  • Reporting & advisory: Present audit findings, insights, and recommendations to the Audit, Risk, and Compliance Committee, ensuring alignment with Enko Educationxe2x80x99s strategic goals.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Work closely with school administrators, finance teams, and senior leadership to drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Regulatory compliance: Ensure adherence to local and international financial reporting and governance standards across all operating countries.
Ideal candidateWe are looking for a highly skilled audit professional with a proven track record in internal audit, risk management, and compliance. Previous experience in a multi-country organization is preferred, and experience in the education sector is a plus.As an ideal candidate, you demonstrate:

  • Language skills: Fluency in English is required; French proficiency is a strong advantage.
  • Willingness to travel: Ability to travel across Enko Educationxe2x80x99s schools in Africa as required.
