Job Advert SummaryThe Feedem Group seeks to appoint a Group Management Accountant to provide strategic support to Operations and Finance including managing a Finance Team, Payroll and Credit Control function. Report accurate financial information up to income statements and balance sheet .Established in 1975, Feedem is a large contract catering company in South Africa which manages in excess of 300 sites and employs more than 5 000 people ranging from dieticians, chefs and human capital specialists to hygiene experts.We provide a wide range of catering and associated services to clients in all industries. Minimum Requirements

  • CA (SA) , CIMA, BCompt, Bcom Accounting or similar degree
  • SAIPA OR SAICA registered
  • Minimum 7 - 10 years of experience in service or similar industry
  • At least more than 10 years of experience, managing team of more than 15 staff members including Senior Staff Positions (recorded in Curriculum Vitae)
  • English / additional SA languages would be advantageous
  • Experience with Financial Information System and other Operational Support Systems
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency
  • Valid drivers license with own transport

Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage Administration
  • Reconciliation
  • Oversee the process of the Reconciliation between the accounting system and the Unit P&L Reports and ensure that adequate communication takes place.
  • Resolve all variances and differences on the monthly General Ledger account reconciliations together within the required deadlines for the companies
  • Ensure that monthly reconciliations have been compiled by the required standard
  • Ensure that any balance sheet and control accounts arising out of monthly transactions have been captured, reconciled and accounted for.
  • Review reconciliation of GL Accounts for all division.
  • Taking responsibility on the outstanding debtors book of the business to support collectability, through liaison with operation staff and/ or clients
  • Financial Reporting and Audit process
  • Produce monthly accounts for presentation to the Group Finnacial Manager and COO whenever required
  • Asset and contract management
  • Liasing with operations team on profitability and perfomance of contracts
  • Manage creditors department in the resolution of oustanding supplier invoices/ purchase orders and credit notes.
Innovation and Technology
  • Identify, develop and maintain Sound Financial and operational Systems
  • Implementation and testing of new and updated systems and processes.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures, and training manuals for systems are in place
  • Standardised Systems, processes and procedures.
  • Explore and implement systems in alignment with other support functions.
  • Continuous research and development.
Leading and Managing People
  • Leading and Managing team consisting of Payroll Manager, Credit Control/Debtor Manager, Analyst, Senior Management Accountant Various Management Accountants as well as Fleet and Uniform Manager
  • Provide leadership to team members and Senior Staff Nationally.
  • Leading the focus on talent to instil value creation for high value contributors.
  • Lead and manage the Talent Management Process within the team by identifying successors on key roles
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end performance management process of direct employees bi-annually.
  • Conduct training and guidance on certain modules as and when required
Managing Stakeholders
  • Collaborate and manage internal and external stakeholders with functions relating to Feedem Group
  • Effective engagement with external key stakeholders and provision of high levels of service.
  • Maintains good relationships with internal and external stakeholders by engaging them frequently
