Job Description


:The successful candidate will be reporting to Group Executive Enterprise and Airport Security, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

  • Drive the formulation of group security strategy and security master plan including tactical planning, execution, and operating management for coordinated security services and other duties as prescribed for the Under the National Aviation Security Program (NASP).
  • Translate regulations into effective standards and procedures for aviation and non-aviation divisions. Develop policies and review and make recommendations for policymaking.
  • Manage and review security service contracts regularly to ensure adherence to SLA's.
  • Liaise with law enforcement counterparts.
  • Liaise regularly with relevant government departments and security bodies /specialists for advice, assistance and information regarding information security.
  • Monitor annual compliance audits in line with the legislative requirements in accordance with ICAO, SACAA and CIPA
  • Manage the Company's risk exposure through identifying, implementing and maintenance of risk control measures to minimise the Company's liability.
  • Direct operational, labour and capex requirements within the function for efficient delivery of operational targets and submit recommendations to Executive Management/Board.
  • Anticipate change and align reporting and information requirements.
  • Represent ACSA at SACAA, BMA, NATJOINTS, JOCOMM, NASC & NKP Regulatory committees.
  • Establish, monitor and manage healthy, diverse, workable internal and external relationships, including the interface with external providers to ensure departmental/functional needs are met and organisational goals achieved.
  • Develop document control systems and practices.
  • Effectively manage the function and its objectives in line with approved budgets (operational, capex and labour).
  • Implement and manage people development processes such as performance management, succession planning and talent management to meet functional performance standards.
  • Identify all risks and threats to the security of the institution, as well as vulnerabilities in the institution's capacity to counter these.
Technical Skills and ExperienceThe following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:
  • A Bachelor's Honors Degree (NQF 8) in Security /Law / Risk is essential.
  • A Bachelor of Technology in Policing (NQF 7) recommended is essential
  • 5 years operational experience in security or aviation regulations is essential.
  • 3 years management experience in people and stakeholder management is essential.
  • 5 years management experience in Intelligence / Policing / Military is essential
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
