The role plays a central role in supporting the merchandising and stock control functions across all brands and retail channels. You will leverage data to improve product performance, stock health, and supply chain efficiency. This role bridges commercial and operational insights, supporting everything from category planning and demand forecasting to stock accuracy in warehouses and control of repair and return processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Merchandising & Commercial Analytics:
Analyze sales, margin, and inventory performance across brands, stores and categories to identify trends, opportunities, and underperformance.
Develop and maintain dashboards that monitor/audit merchandising paramaters (aged stock, markdown effectiveness, etc.)
Collaborate between finance and merchandise on OTB management
Identifying and analyze slow moving stock at store and warehouse level with a view to resolve and clear
Stock Control & Operational Accuracy:
Monitor and audit stock levels across stores and warehouses, ensuring system data matches physical stock.
Investigate stock variances, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures to improve accuracy.
Oversee data tracking, reporting and investigations related to stock movements, including transfers, shrinkage, and write-offs.
Support and analyse repair and return flows, working with the warehouse and customer service teams to minimize stock loss and improve recovery rates.
Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure accurate intake, dispatch, and stock-on-hand data.
Monitor damaged stock locations in the main warehouses, collaborate with Brands and Wholesale departments to clear and keep minimal.
Identify, clear and monitor stock in appro, representatives, and other non-material system locations, implement measures to keep current and reconciled.
Monitor the monthly closing of stock periods on the ERP system.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting:
Assist finance team to address exceptions/losses/variances
Partner with IT and data teams to maintain and enhance reporting tools and data pipelines.
Provide regular reporting and ad-hoc insights to senior leadership to inform strategic decisions.
Assist with the rollout of new systems or processes that impact merchandising and stock control.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
3+ years of retail experience in a merchandising, inventory control, or data analytics role within a retail or multi-brand environment.
Proficient in Excel and at least one BI/reporting tool (e.g., Power BI).
Solid understanding of retail metrics (e.g., sell-through, stock cover, open-to-buy, aged inventory).
Familiarity with warehouse processes, cycle counting, stock audits, and reverse logistics (repairs/returns).
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate with both commercial and operational teams.
