Are you a seasoned manager looking for your next exciting opportunity? We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as the manager of our small boutique guesthouse, based in the Cape Town CBD. The ideal candidate should have a background in hospitality management with a particular focus on guesthouse operations.

Key responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day operations, managing staff, maintaining high standards of guest service, coordinating bookings, handling guest inquiries and concerns, managing and ensuring the overall success and profitability of the establishment.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years experience in the hospitality industry / relative experience in an administrative or managerial role.

Key Responsibilities:

Day - to - Day Duties:

manning our reception area creating a daily schedule ensuring a smooth check in and check out experience scheduling transport and activities addressing guest requests sharing highlights of the local area helping our staff to ensure the hotel is running smoothly and all guests are happy.
Qualities:

People person: a friendly, easy-going and energetic individual who loves chatting with guests, anticipating their needs, advising them on things to do in Cape Town and making casual conversation. Punctual / Time-management skills : Candidate will arrive on time for work consistently and complete one's tasks in a timely fashion Organized: Candidate should be able to complete daily duties diligently and efficiently. This includes keeping track of guests who want early or late check outs, organize a daily check-in schedule to assist cleaning team with room turnovers and adhere to any last minute changes in bookings. Computer literate: able to manage and operate our booking platforms: RoomRaccoon Air bnb and Booking.com platforms accordingly, write responses to guests, check emails and manage all online bookings. Great communication skills: proficient in the English language and able to communicate with guests in English literately, leaving a positive impression. Problem solving abilities: able to think quick on their feet, take initiative, handle any potential complications or mistakes and rectify them quickly. Basic Maths / Financial Administration skills: able to collect and process any additional payments from guests. Great Attitude: candidate will have a positive outlook on life, won't take life too seriously, will be flexible and easy going and enjoy having fun. Cooking / barista / basic chef skills are needed to fufill this role.

Manager will work 5 shifts per week (6 occasionally during busy season)

Shifts are either :

7:30 am - 3pm

2pm - 7pm

Own mode of transport preferred but not required.
