Role Overview:
The Hair Development Formulation Intern will contribute to the development of innovative hair care products, ensuring full compliance with L'Oreal Group's stringent regulatory and safety requirements. This role requires a strong foundation in chemistry or chemical engineering, a meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for creating high-performance hair care solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Formulation Development:
Assist in the development and optimization of new hair care formulations, focusing on performance, stability, and sensory attributes.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all formulations adhere to relevant regional and international regulatory requirements for cosmetic products. This includes staying up-to-date with the latest legislation and guidelines.
Safety Testing & Evaluation:
Support the safety assessment of hair care formulations by coordinating and reviewing safety test results and contributing to safety dossiers.
Raw Material Assessment:
Evaluate and select new raw materials, ensuring they meet L'Oreal's quality and safety standards, as well as regulatory requirements.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all formulation work, experimental data, and safety assessments. Prepare reports summarizing research findings and progress.
Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with other members of the Research & Innovation team, as well as cross-functional teams such as Marketing and Product Development.
Qualifications:
Education:
B.Sc. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
Laboratory Experience:
Practical laboratory experience in formulation development, ideally within the cosmetics or personal care industry, is highly beneficial.
Regulatory Knowledge:
Familiarity with cosmetic regulations and safety assessments is a plus.
Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial for this role.
Attention to Detail:
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy are essential.
Communication Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration within a team environment.
Passion for Hair Care:
A genuine interest in hair care science and product development is highly desired.
