Job Title: HandymanLocation: Hermanus, South AfricaPurpose of the Role:La Vierge Wines is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Handyman to manage and maintain our beautiful estate in Hermanus. This position requires hands-on management of various maintenance tasks to ensure the estate and facilities are kept in pristine condition. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, be able to work under pressure, and be available for emergencies.Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a wide range of handyman tasks including basic plumbing, electrical work, painting, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs throughout the estate and facilities.
• Manage security and access control.
• Liaise with tenants and promptly attend to any issues that arise.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed and materials used.
• Respond to emergency maintenance needs and support other team members as required.
• Assist with setting up venues as needed and collaborate with contractors on-site for major repairs.
• Take accountability for tools and equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained and stored properly.
• Support and oversee subcontracted services and coordinate with the general manager
• Ensure all safety and emergency procedures are followed and maintained.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 4 years' experience as a handyman, tradesman, caretaker, or building manager.
• Proven experience with a variety of hardware tools and electrical equipment.
• Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical systems.
• Matric or equivalent qualification.
• Competent in using the MS Office Suite.
• Valid Code B (Code EB preferred) driverxe2x80x99s license with a clear driving record.
• Clear criminal record.
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and remain calm in emergencies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
